Privacy policy

Who we are

DangoGames is a free platform of educational games and classroom tools, available at dangogames.com and app.dangogames.com. It is built and maintained by DangoDev (https://www.facebook.com/dangodev). This policy explains what data is collected when you use the site, what it is used for and what you can do about it.

Information we collect

• Account data (optional): username, email address, password and sign-up date. The password is stored hashed; we never keep it in readable form.
• Email preference: whether you agreed to receive news by email and the date you agreed.
• Content you create: the game name, words, clues, cards and images you upload. It is stored on our servers so the game works and you can share it through its link.
• My classes (account only): each class name, its terms, the student names the teacher types and the date and time of each contribution they record. Only the teacher who created them can see this data.
• Live rooms: the name each participant types when joining, their answers, how long they take to answer and their score.
• Technical data: when you visit a page or answer "Did you find this useful?", we record the page, your IP address, your browser and the date. We use it to count visits and prevent duplicate votes or abuse.
• Data kept in your browser: the language you choose, your sound preference, the view and range you picked in "My classes" and, in live rooms, an identifier so you can reconnect. It stays on your device (the browser's local storage) and we do not use it to track you.

How we use the information

• To provide the service: saving your games and classes, showing games to anyone who has the link and running live rooms.
• To keep your session and your account if you are signed in, and to send you a reset link if you forget your password.
• Only if you expressly agree (when signing up or from your profile), to email you news, tips and promotions about DangoGames and other DangoDev products. It is optional, it does not affect the service and you can withdraw it at any time.
• To produce usage statistics and improve the games.
• To protect the site against abuse, bots and fraudulent use.
• To reply to the messages you send us.

Third-party services

The site is free and is funded by advertising and donations. To work it uses these third-party services, which receive your IP address and technical data from your browser and handle it under their own policies:

• Google Analytics: measures how the site is used (pages visited, device type and approximate location). Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
• Google AdSense: shows ads (see the next section).
• Cloudflare Turnstile: checks that you are not a robot when you sign in or create an account. https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
• Resend: sends account emails, such as the password reset link. https://resend.com/legal/privacy-policy

Advertising and Google cookies

Ads on this site are served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads. Google's advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we show a consent message before using advertising or analytics cookies, and you can change your choice at any time from that same message.

Cookies and local storage

DangoGames does not use cookies of its own to track you. The cookies you may find on the site belong to the analytics and advertising services described above.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so does not stop you from playing; it may only change the ads you see.

Children and classroom use

DangoGames is designed for classroom use, but the site is aimed at teachers and adults, who are the ones creating accounts, games and class lists. Students can play without an account, and in live rooms they are only asked for a display name.

We do not knowingly collect any data from children beyond that name and the names a teacher types in "My classes". If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to dangosaurio2024@gmail.com and we will delete it.

How long we keep data

We keep your account, your games and your classes while the account exists or until you ask us to delete them. Deleting a class also deletes its students, terms and contributions. Games created without an account remain available through their link. Technical data and live room data are kept for as long as they are needed for the site to work and stay secure.

Security

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) and passwords are stored hashed. Each teacher can only see and change their own games and classes. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, although no system connected to the internet is completely secure.

Your rights

You can ask us to access or correct your data, or to delete your account and all its content, at any time by writing to dangosaurio2024@gmail.com. We will reply within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision, and we will announce significant changes on the site.
