Who comes to the board? Which question is next? Which group presents first? When every student has a roll number, a random number is the quickest and fairest way to decide: nobody can say the teacher picked on purpose.

The no repeats mode fixes the classic problem with draws: the same person coming up twice while others never get a turn. Each number appears only once until they have all been drawn, and you can always see which ones are out and how many are left.

How to use the generator

  1. Choose the range. Type the minimum and maximum, or tap one of the shortcuts (1–10, 1–30, 1–100).
  2. Decide whether numbers can repeat. With no repeats on, each number comes up only once.
  3. Draw. The numbers spin for a moment and stop on the result. You can also use the space bar.

Tip: to draw the whole class, set the maximum to the number of students on your list and turn on no repeats. When you are done, the generator tells you every number has been drawn.

Can I choose the range of numbers?

What does "no repeats" mean?
Each number comes up only once until the whole range has been drawn. It is the best option for picking students by roll number: nobody is picked twice before everyone has had a turn.
Is the result genuinely random?
